Billy Oirish Racing - "Bathurst" 4HR Race

Billy Oirish Racing is proud to present the inaugural "Bathurst Barbie" 4HR Endurance Race, taking place on the legendary Mount Panorama . This one-make endurance race will utilize the Mazda MX5 Global Car on the iRacing platform.

Classes

The Billy Oirish Racing Series consists of two classes:

  • Pro Class
  • Am Class

Class placement will be determined by iRating. Full details will be provided on Discord.

Note: Drivers performing noticeably above their AM class competitors will be moved to the Pro class automatically. 

Entry Requirements

  • All competitors must have paid entry prior to the beginning of the Race
  • Minimum age: 14 years old on the date of the first qualifying session
  • Maximum capacity: 60 cars
  • Entry closes: December 26th, 2025

Entry Priority

Registration priority will be given in the following order:

  1. Drivers who competed in a previous year's championship and scored points
  2. Drivers who competed in previous leagues
  3. New entrants

Race Format

  • Start Procedure: Standing start
  • Setup: Open setup
  • Track: Mount Panorama
  • Car: Mazda MX5 Global Car

Force Majeure

Should the event be suspended due to force majeure (e.g., technical issues):

  • Before qualifying starts: Organisers will attempt to reschedule the race
  • Before race completion: Points will be awarded based on qualifying positions using the feature race points system
  • Race run to completion: Results will stand unless cancellation was announced during the race via iRacing voice comms

Conduct and Demeanor

  • Drivers are responsible for their own conduct and that of team members or family
  • All participants must act professionally and courteously
  • Drivers must obey organisers' directions at all times

Driving Etiquette

  • Entrants are expected to be courteous, giving back positions gained unfairly
  • iRacing penalties apply at 17 incident points, with additional penalties every 5 points thereafter
  • 8 fast repairs available per sprint race
  • Give sufficient racing room (at least a car's width)
  • Do not rejoin the track in a way that causes incidents
  • Return positions gained via excessive contact
  • Take a drive-through penalty for collisions on Lap 1 that cause spins or off-track incidents
  • Use iRacing voice channel only for race-relevant communication
  • Defend positions without deliberate hindrance or crowding

Required Awareness Tools

Drivers must use at least two of the following tools:

  • Relative screen (F3)
  • Race Lab Apps Radar
  • Crew Chief Spotter

Drivers must also have the correct Series Discord channel active during races, using push-to-talk only.

Track Limits

  • Track limits are as per iRacing automated limits (incident points and slowdowns)
  • For close racing, track limits are defined by the solid white lines on each side of the track
  • Curbs, run-off areas, grass, and gravel are NOT considered part of the track

Paints and Decals

  • Drivers must display current championship decals during official sessions
  • Profanity, nudity, or political content is NOT permitted on cars

Registration

The organisers reserve the right to reject the registration of any participant without specifying the reason.
