Kevin set up the channel and team to share his racing with the online community.

He wanted people to see that you don't have to be a professional racing driver to have fun in simulations such as iRacing.

So why the name "Billy?"

In UK Motorsport an amateur or a person receiving instruction is known as a Billy (Billy Bunter - Punter - London rhyming slang) Similar to a rookie in the USA.

Billy is often affectionately used when a seasoned person makes a "rookie mistake".

Kevin is also known elsewhere as "Oirish Kev" so it just seemed to all come together. I am not a great sim racer. I'm an amateur racing driver. So, I fit the "Billy" name perfectly.

Mc Glone

Driver

I’ve been passionate about motorsports since 2001, starting with sim racing and eventually competing in events like the 24HRS of Silverstone.

After facing a health challenge in 2023, I turned to streaming iRacing while recovering. Now, I stream five days a week and plan to expand into vlogging and podcasts in 2025, sharing my love for racing and connecting with others in the motorsports world.

2009

WHERE IT STARTED

I bought my first sim rig so that I could play Gran Turismo with a wheel and pedals in 2001. Over time I upgraded my Logitech wheel to a T500 Wheel from ThrustMaster. I progressed to Project Cars (again on PlayStation) and in  2017 I decided I should build a PC sim rig for playing iRacing.

2009

TRACK CARS

I have always had an interest in racing and have owned a dedicated track car since 2009. Having had some success in business I spent a lot of my down time travelling to the Nurburgring for track days and tourist days. My first trip was in late 2003 and I have been nearly every year since.

2022

CLUB RACING

I began club level racing in 2022 and competed in the 24HRS of Silverstone, a 6 Hour race at Brands Hatch and The Race Of Remembrance that same year.

2023

ILLNESS

I fell ill in 2023 and discovered that I was suffering form a rare auto immune disease. This resulted in the fitment of a pacemaker to resolve my rapidly decreasing heart rate. I decided to step away form both my day job and my own motorsport photography business to focus on my health.

2024 ONWARDS

WHAT NOW?

In January 2024, I decided to stream some iRacing races I was taking part in whilst recuperating at home. I now stream 5 days a week, twice a day. I'm using this to focus my time on doing something that I love and hopefully entertaining you all along the way.

I hope to integrate Vlogging in 2025 and not only livestream from international sim racing events but also provide a unique view into the motorsport’s world.

Additionally, I hope to present some podcasts with some of the interesting people I have met along the way in my motorsport work.
